Floris Kromwijk
Founder & Principal AI Consultant
Floris combines a rigorous engineering mindset with deep expertise in computer science to deliver secure and powerful AI solutions. Currently completing dual Master’s degrees in Industrial Design Engineering and Computer Science, he possesses a unique ability to bridge the gap between complex technology and practical, real-world business applications.
His passion for AI was solidified during a significant project with Thales, a global leader in technology and security, where he developed and implemented a sophisticated Large Language Model RAG solution. This hands-on experience, combined with extensive academic coursework in AI and his work on embedded systems testing, has given him a comprehensive understanding of the entire technology stack—from the underlying hardware to the application layer.
Floris founded Rootbound AI with a clear mission: to make the transformative power of private AI accessible to businesses without compromising on security. He believes that the best solutions are not just technically elegant, but are also robust, reliable, and designed with the user’s needs at their core. He is a hands-on consultant dedicated to guiding each client from initial strategy to successful deployment.
